We’re needed, as members,
To each do our part
To make sure each service
Goes smooth from the start.
To offer a greeting,
To provide us with flowers,
Do worship support
And host coffee hours.
So line up to sign up
And all will be well,
You’ll be serving our church
And you will feel swell.

A corny reminder but an important one. Please go to tinyurl.com/CPCSundays and sign up as a greeter (in person or on Zoom) or to host coffee hour. Sign up if you want to bring flowers or tell Donald Clarke that you would like to have the Flower Committee provide them for you. He can be reached at donaldclarke@gmail.com.
If you can help with worship support and you are not part of Serena’s Worship Support Team, you can contact her at wiltshireserena@gmail.com. If you are on the team, formerly the Deacons, you can sign up online. It is also helpful if you sign up by Wednesday of the week prior so we can fill as many vacancies as possible. All of these things are so important to our weekly church service and can’t be performed without you.
We have memorial services coming up for two very beloved long-time members of the congregation. The service for Bob Abernethy will be on Saturday, May 7, at 1:30. The service for Georgie Dunham will be on Saturday, May 14, at 1:30.
If you were on hand for Sunday’s coffee hour conversation on the racial justice audit you are aware of the amazing job that Lisa Jenkins and her team are doing to evaluate the results and to decide, keeping in mind our sabbatical theme, “What Next?” Gratitude to Lisa, Dit Talley, Holly Hancock, Layla Heimlich, and Pastor Ellen.
A special thank you also to our fellow congregant, John Voll, who delivered a fine sermon on the challenges of engaging the “nones” (those who have no religious preference) and the “everythings” (those whose beliefs cross doctrinal boundaries) in interfaith dialogues. A subject I’m sure many of us had not considered before and certainly one to ponder.
Until next time,
Bruce
