Become a VIP
As summer draws to a close and we look forward to new beginnings in the fall, it was the right time for our congregational mid-year update. We received a financial report from Don Marshall and an update on the capital campaign from Don Blanchon. Then each of our committee chairs provided information on “What Next?” for their committees, in line with our sabbatical theme.
One thing that most of the committee presentations had in common was the need for more people. Not having the “bandwidth” to meet their goals was a recurring concern.
In response to this need I am urging every member of our congregation to become a VIP. By that I mean becoming active in Volunteering, Involvement, and Participation. Not everyone can do everything but each of us can play a part in these vital areas. As our new church year begins, consider what you might be able to contribute in time and energy to support the ongoing needs and expanding role of our church. We have an exciting future ahead of us when we all work together as a family.
In her sermon, Rev. Love talked about the uniqueness of each individual and of God’s love for each of us just as we are. She reminded us to listen carefully for the whisper of our still speaking God and to be joyous about God’s presence in our lives.
Perhaps there is a chance that whisper may be telling you to become a VIP!
Until next time,
Bruce
