Keep close to Nature’s heart. . .and break clear away, once in a while, and climb a mountain or spend a week in the woods. Wash your spirit clean.—John Muir
Gone fishing. . .Well, not really, but I am out of town. (I know, I know, it was only two weeks ago that I devoted my Moderator’s Memo to how much I love staycations. And I do. But I also think that it is a good idea to get away every now and then if one can.) I have been looking forward to this trip but I do regret the timing of it because it means I will miss Tonetta Landis-Aina’s last Sunday preaching here at CPC.
It has been wonderful having Tonetta with us over the past month while Pastor Ellen has been on vacation. Her series of sermons, “Sassy Love, Sacred Faith” and related discussions have given us a lot to think about. Tonetta, thank you for sharing your Sunday mornings with us. We have enjoyed getting to know you and your family and hope that you will come back to visit.
Both Pastor Ellen and I will be back at church on August 12th. I am looking forward to hearing about her vacation and suspect she will be equally anxious to hear about our journey through the Book of Job with Tonetta.
Until then. . .
