Ramping Up to the Finish Line
How could I resist that headline? We are now in the midst of the 5th and final year of the Second Century Campaign…Renewing Our Foundations. Our theme for this capital campaign is “Widening Our Welcome.” Our goals are to raise at least $1,000,000 between 2019 and 2023 and to achieve 100% participation from congregation members.
The finish line is in sight, yet much mission-critical work remains to be done. Together we must ramp up now for our big push across that line. Together we will reach our fundraising goal through the amazing generosity of our congregation and friends. Together as one community. That is how we have secured nearly 50 pledges to date totaling 85%–$854,610 to be exact–of our fundraising goal. And that is how we will raise the remaining $145,390 needed to reach our goal.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I thank those members and friends who have already fulfilled their campaign pledge. Your gift made a big difference to widening our welcome to all.
Next, I invite any and all persons who are in a financial position to do so, to make a new gift or increase your pledge and fulfill it by the end of this year. Your gift will literally get us across the finish line.
Finally, I ask all members and friends with outstanding pledges to fulfill them by no later than December 31, 2023. Your gift will help us fund the two remaining major commitments of the campaign—our 10% mission tithe and our building accessibility ramp. On this latter commitment, I am pleased to share that the Board of Trustees recently contracted with Balodemas Architects to prepare construction documents and other permitting-related information for this priority project. While the actual timing of construction is still to be finalized, our current planning assumption is that the ramp will be completed no later than next summer.
I look forward to sharing more campaign news and updates with you at our congregation’s mid-year meeting. In the interim, please reach out to me at donandsarah@comcast.net with your questions or comments.Yours in service,
Don Blanchon
