Climate Action: Electrify Your Life
Webinar, September 7, 7 pm- Much of the solution to the climate crisis is doing two things: getting all the carbon out of our electricity supply, and electrifying everything we can. Join Interfaith Power and Light on Sept 7 at 7 pm for a webinar on electrification, what it looks like, and what federal resources are available to help you do it.
Shifting our household energy use to efficient technologies that use renewable energy is an opportunity to help bring about climate justice based on the shared values of caring for one another and our common home. RSVP Here
Welcome to Our New Sunday School Coordinator!
We welcome Marian Cooper, the newest member of our church staff. Marian (he/him/his) will be coordinating and teaching the K-4th grade Sunday School class, scheduling and overseeing our nursery workers, and organizing and directing the Christmas Pageant and Children’s Sunday Service, among other duties.
Marian graduated from Guilford College in 2020 with a BA in Religious Studies. He grew up attending the First Congregational UCC in his hometown of Corning, New York, where he was an active member of the youth group and later taught Sunday School. He recently moved to the Washington, DC, area with his twin sister and his terrier-mix, Ray. He enjoys taking his dog for walks, spending time with his family, and exploring the city.
