Dear Church Community,
This Sunday we welcome back our 2022 Sabbatical Pastor, Rev. Aubra Love. I’ll lead worship, and Rev. Love will be our guest preacher. After worship, we’ll gather for a Welcome Fall Potluck Lunch. I look forward to being together!
Many of you remember Rev. Love from her time with us, but for those who need a refresher, here’s a brief bio.
Rev. Aubra Love is the Founding Executive Director of the Black Church and Domestic Violence Institute Inc., a national educational ministry, which engages congregational partnerships to appropriately address public health concerns.
A graduate of Cornell University and the Morehouse School of Religion at the ITC, she was ordained in the Southern Conference of the United Church of Christ and currently holds standing in the Central Atlantic Conference.
Rev. Love provides culturally competent training to both secular and sacred institutions with a lens toward the politics of sexuality and spirituality. She is a lifelong movement worker and daughter of literacy activists devoted to insuring voter registration among Black citizens in the southern states of North America.
Her daughter, Tahira, and eight-year-old granddaughter, Dylan, are always pleased to share in the harvests of her gardening, and her son, Alan, resides in Denver, Colorado.
After worship, we’ll gather for a Welcome Fall Potluck Lunch. If you haven’t yet signed up, please do so at Perfect Potluck. If you’re unable to bring something, please join us anyway!
Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Ellen
